We weten dat OxygenOS al lang geen OxygenOS meer is en steeds meer richting Oppo's ColorOS kruipt. Daarnaast zijn de camerakwaliteiten nooit de reden geweest om voor OnePlus te kiezen. Dat betekent niet dat je geen mooie shots maakt met dit toestel, maar met andere premium smartphones heb je wellicht een betere ervaring. Het enige dat in de weg zit, is die minimale prijs van 999 euro. Ook hier plaatsen we de kanttekening dat OnePlus op dit vlak veranderd is. Het merk is allang geen prijsvechter meer. Bloedsnel is het toestel en de AI functies werken best aardig. Ik geef toe dat AI ook nu vooral nog als een gimmick aanvoelt in mijn dagelijkse praktijk, maar ik zie wel dat OxygenOS steeds handiger wordt in het aanbieden van AI ondersteuning op de juiste plekken. Simply put although this is one of the 1st major brand launches of the year with the new Snapdragon Chipset onboard it is in my opinion one of the best phones currently available to the wider global market. I would be very happy to continue to use this phone daily and if I wasn’t so hooked on foldable phones I would certainly being doing so. While I fully expect the next phone series from Samsung to be up with the OnePlus 13 in terms of specs I also expect it to be way more expensive.

It would take a really good camera system to knock the Pixel 9 Pro off the top spot as my first choice camera phone, and the OnePlus 13 comes agonizingly close, with all three of its cameras offering great images – although a few white balance mistakes and a shorter telephoto just take it away from perfection. Photos are detailed, with great results from each of the three different cameras. The colors are accurate and nicely saturated. The white balance, on the whole, is accurate, although it can veer slightly warmer, however, consistency has been a minor issue with some quirks in white balance and processing as you switch between cameras.And when it comes to hardware, I wish OnePlus had chosen to go further than a 3x optical zoom camera, I am a big zoom fan, and this doesn’t quite do it for me – I would really hope for at least a 5x optical zoom.

Now the big question is, whether you should buy the OnePlus 13. I really like this phone, it’s not perfect, but it does a lot of things right. I do wish it had brought over the Zero Shutter Lag from the OPPO Find X8 series, that’s about the only complaint I have here with this phone. Battery life could be better, but it’s perfectly fine. And at this price, it’s likely going to be the cheapest flagship here in the US. It’s already cheaper than the Pixel 9 Pro, and likely much cheaper than the Galaxy S25 Ultra (Galaxy S24 Ultra had an MSRP of $1,299).

I’ve been using the OnePlus 13 as my primary phone for about a month now, and it has been fantastic. It’s the little things that make it so good to own, such as the vastly improved fingerprint sensor, tactile haptics, the Alert Slider’s helpfulness, and the incredible efficiency that leads to long battery life. You can play Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves and other demanding Android fare with a perfect frame rate pretty much 100% of the time, even on high graphics. Likewise, you have a great gaming mode stuffed into OxygenOS 15. Which is still one of my favourite launchers in 2025. Battery life is sublime on the OnePlus 13 global edition, which boasts a 6000mAh cell. Or rather two 3000mAh batteries. Qualcomm Adreno 830: Geïntegreerde grafische eenheid in de Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC voor smartphones met drie schijfjes van elk 1,1 GHz. Geïntegreerde 12 MB gedeelde cache voor de drie schijfjes. Volgens Qualcomm 40% sneller dan de vorige generatie (Adreno 750).
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
