De beste betaalbare gaming-PC's bieden een grote waaier aan upgrademogelijkheden op lange termijn. Gebruikers kunnen simpelweg een instapconfiguratie kopen en langzaam upgraden zonder de originele garantie te verliezen. In dit opzicht lijkt de compacte Legion C530 een prima kant-en-klare PC met een lange houdbaarheidsdatum in vergelijking met nog compactere opties zoals de MSI Trident 3, Intel Hades Canyon NUC of Zotac ZBox Magnus die veel moeilijker te onderhouden zijn.

Een aantal besparingen verhinderen misschien dat de Legion C530 de "perfecte" gaming-behuizing kan worden voor beginners. Het systeem mist Thunderbolt 3, een secundaire PCIe-sleuf, 10-Gbit-Ethernet, een kaartlezer, optische drive en een gespecialiseerd BIOS-menu waarover de meeste gaming-PC's tegenwoordig beschikken. De ATX12V/BTX-voeding is ook wat moeilijker te vervangen dan de overige hoofdcomponenten. We zouden voor de goedkopere instapconfiguraties ook liever een eenvoudige SATA III M.2-SSD hebben gezien in plaats van de verplichte Intel Optane.

Een degelijke basis voor beginnende PC-bouwers. De Lenovo Legion C530 is een betaalbare, duurzame desktop met meer dan genoeg prestaties en upgrademogelijkheden.
