EN→NLWe can spend all day talking about the ton of features this device offers in its numerous configurations. It comes with an optional fingerprint reader, IR face recognition scanner, proximity sensor, 1080p Web camera, LTE support, and more. And this is great, don’t get us wrong. However, what is more, important to us, is to get an adequate base. Some might say, it’s au naturel. In our opinion, this is a great machine. At least from this perspective. It has a great performance for this type of product. It sustains 30W of TDP for long periods of time and can boost pretty high too. The cooling solution it is equipped with, does a great job of cooling the internals, without having a negative impact on comfort, both in terms of noise, and keyboard temperature. Dell Latitude 14 5431’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Thankfully, its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. On the other hand, the screen covers only 50% of the sRGB colors, which has two impacts. One – the image looks a bit dull, when compared to a full-coverage panel, and two – you can’t expect accurate colors. Be wary of a 768p TN display option, which is something you want to stay away from. On the bright side, you can pick a panel with full sRGB coverage, which will be ideal for color-related work. Furthermore, you get two SODIMM slots for memory expansion, which is not usual for 14-inch notebooks. But yet again, this is not an ordinary device. It is a business outfit, which provides more than you might need. What you really need, however, is long battery life. In this case, the 64Wh battery lasts for more than 13 hours of Web browsing, or about 9 hours of video playback. This way, it is almost sure that you will be able to get an entire workday on battery power. On the other hand, using more demanding software will obliterate the package quite quickly. Another aspect we really like is the port selection. Two Thunderbolt ports are joined by a couple of USB Type-As, a MicroSD card reader, an HDMI connector, and a LAN port. This makes it a strong opponent even to the boldest of Fujitsus out there.

EN→NLThe Dell Latitude 5450 is a snappy small office device that surprises us with its performance. Despite the modest-looking thermal system with just one fan and a single heat pipe, the Core Ultra 7 155U can sustain higher clocks in medium and long loads than the bigger Latitude 5550 with the same chip. Expectedly, the fan here is more audible but it’s not noisy. The keyboard is also warmer to the touch than the one of the 5550 version but it’s not scorching hot so we can call it a day. The battery life with the same 54Wh capacity is similar to the bigger “cousin” – around 9 hours of videos. Even the port selection is near equivalent – two Thunderbolt 4s and a pair of Type As (but the 14-incher doesn’t offer a MicroSD slot).

EN→NLIf you are purely a business user and got this laptop from your employer, you shouldn’t have any real complaints. What the device has going for it is very good build quality, a very good keyboard for typing content, an anti-glare display that works well in different lighting conditions, decent overall performance, and a day-long battery life. It is also really lightweight and comfortable to carry/use for long durations. Where it falters is that Windows on ARM still has bugs to iron out, and that’s more of a Qualcomm-Microsoft thing to fix. However, there are laptops in a similar price range that offer better battery life, and my biggest gripe is the lack of an HDMI port. For an asking price of Rs 1,19,950 + taxes for the configuration I have, it is a tad steep, especially if you compare it with Dell’s own lineup as well as the competition’s “non-business” laptop lineup. Then again, they wouldn’t come with Dell’s security features such as Dell SafeID and Secure BIOS, which is a big factor for business users.

De productlijn omvat desktops, notebooks, opslagsystemen, monitors, servers, printers, consumentenelektronica en randapparatuur. Dell biedt laptops die geschikt zijn voor verschillende toepassingen, zoals zakelijke laptops, gaming laptops, ultra portables en werkstations. De zakelijke laptops uit de Latitude en Precision series van Dell zijn een optie voor professionele gebruikers en bedrijven.
In 2023 had Dell een marktaandeel van ongeveer 17% in de wereldwijde verkoop van pc's en stond daarmee op de derde plaats, na Lenovo en HP.
Voor gameliefhebbers is er Dell's Alienware merk voor gaming notebooks.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoC's op basis van de nieuwe Gen. 12-architectuur met 96 EU's (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). De kloksnelheid is afhankelijk van het processormodel. De Tiger Lake chips worden geproduceerd in het moderne 10nm+ proces bij Intel.
Intel Graphics 4-Core: Geïntegreerde grafische kaart gebaseerd op de Xe LPG-architectuur (vergelijkbaar met de speciale Arc GPU's, maar met de nadruk op efficiëntie). Biedt 4 Xe-kernen (64 Xe vector-engines) en 4 ray-tracing-eenheden.
Qualcomm Adreno X1-45 1.7 TFLOPS: Een geïntegreerde grafische adapter waar de Snapdragon X Plus 8-core X1P-42-100 SoC over beschikt. Vergeleken met de snellere 3,8 TFLOPS en 4,6 TFLOPS X1-85 iGPU's draait deze niet alleen op lagere kloksnelheden, maar heeft deze ook minder verenigde shaders tot zijn beschikking, met 768 als meest waarschijnlijke aantal. De onderliggende architectuur verschilt naar verluidt niet veel van die van de Adreno 730. Wat betreft de gamingprestaties, deze zijn maar net voldoende voor games van voor 2020 bij resoluties zoals HD 720p op lage grafische instellingen.

Intel Alder Lake-P:
i7-1270P:
Een high-end CPU uit de Alder Lake-P familie met 4 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen, samen met de 96 EU Iris Xe iGPU. De CPU-kernen werken op 1,6 GHz tot 4,8 GHz. Deze i7 is ontworpen voor gebruik in ultralichte laptops. De prestatie-kernen zijn voorzien van de Hyper-Threading-technologie voor verdubbeling van threads, voor in totaal 16 threads. Core i7-1270P heeft een TDP van 28 W en ondersteunt vPro-functies op "Enterprise"-niveau.
Intel Meteor Lake-U:
Ultra 7 155U: Een middenklasse Meteor Lake-chip die in december 2023 zijn debuut maakte. Deze Core Ultra-processor van de 1e generatie vervangt de Core-processors van de 13e generatie; hij beschikt over 12 kernen (2 + 8 + 2) en 14 threads. De Performance cores, waarvan er 2 zijn, draaien op maximaal 4,8 GHz, terwijl de Efficient cores, waarvan er 10 zijn (8 hoofdkernen plus 2 extra in het Low Power Island) op maximaal 3,8 GHz draaien. De 4-core Intel Arc Graphics, die net uit de oven komt, dient als geïntegreerde grafische adapter - deze draait op maximaal 1,95 GHz - en er is ook een groot aantal andere gloednieuwe technologieën beschikbaar, waaronder de geïntegreerde AI Boost NPU met twee Gen 3 engines voor hardware AI-werklastversnelling. Het basisverbruik van deze laptopprocessor is 15 W, met 57 W als het door Intel aanbevolen maximale Turbo-verbruik.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X:
SD X Plus X1P-42-100: Een relatief betaalbare ARM-architectuur system-on-a-chip voor gebruik in Windows-laptops die op 20 mei 2024 zijn debuut zal maken. De X1P-42-100 heeft naar verluidt 8 Oryon CPU-kernen (8 P-cores, 0 E-cores) die draaien op een nog onbekende kloksnelheid van minstens 3 GHz. Een 3,8 TFLOPS Adreno GPU, een 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU, een indrukwekkend snelle LPDDR5x-8448 geheugencontroller, USB 4.0 ondersteuning, TB 4 ondersteuning en PCIe 4 ondersteuning zijn waarschijnlijk allemaal aan boord. Deze X Plus-chip maakt geen gebruik van dezelfde chip waarop de X1P-64-100, X1E-78-100, X1E-80-100 en X1E-84-100 zijn gebaseerd.
