You get excellent performance, good build quality, a smooth 300Hz display, and much more. Yes, at Rs. 1,40,990, it’s not the cheapest gaming laptop, but considering factors like the global chip shortage, the laptop is priced okay. Of course, it has more affordable variants in the TUF F15 series starting from as low as Rs 1,17,900, which you can consider. That being said, if you are looking for something cheaper and can make a few compromises on overall performance, you can buy last year’s Asus TUF F15 or even take a look at Lenovo’s Legion series.

ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX507 review – there are too many versions

This review requires that we make an exception. Due to different cooling components, two versions of the same laptop might be a great and a not-so-great choice. The RTX 3050 device which we had with us shows a very capable performance in real life. Games at 1080p resolution won’t be a problem. However, long gaming sessions will result in high noise and not a super comfortable temperature for the GPU (not to be mistaken with the external temperature, which is pretty good). In addition, we found out that the CPU can’t keep its high clocks for long periods of time, which may not be ideal for people who are into video editing, or 3D modeling. ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX507’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. This is great if you are planning to have long gaming sessions. On the other hand, the color coverage is limited to only 56% of the sRGB color gamut. In addition despite the 144Hz refresh rate, pixel response times are slow, which will result in ghosting. Yet again, you can still choose the other options, all of which should be pretty good. Let’s also not forget to mention the presence of a MUX switch. It will improve your fps in pretty much every game. In terms of autonomy, the battery lasts about 8 hours of Web browsing or 6 hours of video playback. This is a pretty fine result for a laptop in this class. Combine it with a great keyboard and touchpad, and you get a fantastic everyday device. We have to mention that some models will feature DDR4 RAM, while others will be with DDR5 memory. Why? We don’t know. What we do know is that there are two SODIMM slots for memory, and two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for storage. Both of the storage slots support Gen 4 SSDs, which is a bit of good news. Well, the port selection lacks an SD card reader but makes up for it with enough USB Type-As, a LAN port, HDMI 2.0b, and a Thunderbolt 4 connector. At the end of the day, we can tell you that buying the TUF F15 FX507 is worth it.

We got about 13 hours of Web browsing, or nearly 11 hours and 30 minutes of video playback. This is an outstanding result for a gaming machine. However, you have to keep in mind that there is one setting that needs to be enabled. We’re talking about the adaptive display, which can run at 144Hz, as well as at 60Hz.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.
Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.
Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.
