Van een degelijk ontwerp en scherp scherm tot complete hardware en een geweldige accuduur: dit toestel scoort op alle punten goed en komt met prima software. De MIUI-schil is wat ingrijpend en komt zonder duidelijk updatebeleid, maar gezien de prijs kan ik daar mee leven. Onder de streep imponeert de Poco M3 met zijn prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding en is hij een goede keuze als je minder dan 199 euro wilt uitgeven aan een smartphone. Zoek je een goedkoper model met de beste accuduur, dan kun je ook niet om de Poco M3 heen.

Een compromisloze gebruikservaring biedt de Poco M3 echter niet. Het scherm, ondanks de goede kleuren, heeft een te lage maximale helderheid terwijl de zwakkere inkijkhoeken een merkbaar nadeel zijn. De software-problemen spelen vaak genoeg om ze gewoon onderdeel te noemen van wat dit toestel is. De camera kán weliswaar prima foto’s schieten, maar alleen onder specifieke omstandigheden. Bij regulier gebruik moet te vaak rekening gehouden worden met omgevingsfactoren om goede plaatjes te krijgen, terwijl specifieke foto’s zoals van dichtbij gewoon matig zijn.

It’s certainly not the latest and greatest but performs well with what’s onboard, with especially its body and battery as standouts.

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.
