The low TGP of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 makes it difficult to recommend the top-spec model of the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra, then, but the less costly models do make plenty of sense. If you’re looking for a Windows laptop for video-editing or heavy creative purposes, this is a seriously tempting machine. It’s fast, the display is wonderful and the chassis is both well constructed and relatively compact. Pick up the cheapest model and you can upgrade the SSD quickly yourself, using the spare internal M.2 port, so you have significant storage for relatively little cash compared with a MacBook Pro. The only thing to be aware of is that, just because the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra has an RTX 40-series GPU inside, doesn’t mean it’s a fully fledged gaming portable.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is a fine choice for creators. The 3K screen provides excellent colour accuracy, the graphics performance is enough to tackle heavy workloads and it’s portable enough to take on your travels. Is it good enough to thwart the MacBook Pro? Not quite. Apple’s laptop offers superior battery life, a marginally better performance and a more luxurious design. Nevertheless, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra runs it close, and is one of the best attempts I’ve seen from a Windows laptop in the creativity market. The high price is a problem, however, costing upwards of £3000/$3000 if you want the best specs for a high performance. The Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED represents better value and the Razer Blade 16 can be found with similar specs at a cheaper price. The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra is a thin ultrabook in the style of a MacBook Pro or the Dell XPS. It's sleek, it's powerful, and it's expensive. Before we even get into its capabilities, the display technology will be the main attraction point here, particularly given Samsung's expertise in that field. It's also worth pointing out that this is the first Galaxy Book to feature an Nvidia GeForce GPU (the RTX 4070 no less). So our expectation of its screen is very high. Can the Galaxy Book3 Ultra live up to the billing?

NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU:

High-end grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de Ada Lovelace-architectuur. Biedt 8 GB GDDR6 (128 bit) en is configureerbaar met een TGP van 35 - 115 W (+ Dynamic Boost).

Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).

i9-13900H: Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 6 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatie-kernen bieden hyper-threading, wat leidt tot 20 threads die verwerkt kunnen worden. De CPU klokt tot 5,4 GHz. Vergeleken met de i9-13900HK wordt er geen eenvoudige overklokfunctie ondersteund, maar wel een volledige vPro-beheerfunctieset.
