Heb je dus nog geen OnePlus 5, maar ben je wel geïnteresseerd in het toestel, dan kun je nu dus net zo goed dit model overwegen. Het biedt een aantal vernieuwingen een aanpassingen aan die je niet tegenkomt in die smartphone. Gelukkig is het toestel ook relatief goedkoop, met een prijs van minder dan zeshonderd euro. Voor dat bedrag kun je echt niet snel beter krijgen op dit moment. Het enige echte nadeel waar je misschien tegen aanloopt is de kwaliteit van de foto’s, maar voor de rest is dit een high-end smartphone van de bovenste plank.

De OnePlus 5T is een logisch vervolg van de OnePlus 5. Het is heel mooi voor de consument dat de prijzen gelijk zijn gebleven. In mijn optiek krijg je er namelijk een beter toestel voor terug. Het nieuwe 18:9-beeldformaat werkt erg lekker met het algehele design van het toestel. Er zijn geen grote fouten te ontdekken aan de OnePlus 5T, we zouden kunnen klagen over het feit dat er nog geen Android Oreo op draait. Maar daarvan weten we dat het heel snel gaat komen en OnePlus doet het liever goed dan te snel. Daar valt ook wel wat voor te zeggen.

Ook met OxygenOS laat OnePlus andere fabrikanten zien hoe het moet. Jammer is wel dat het nog om een oudere Androidversie gaat.

One strange omission that keeps affecting OnePlus phones is that there isn’t the correct DRM to allow streaming of Netflix, Google Play Movies or Amazon Prime in HD. So after exploring all of the pros and cons, in the end, the team thinks the OnePlus 5T is still a pretty good phone but it may not be a justified upgrade from the OnePlus 5. De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).
