De Intel Core i9-14900HX is een high-end CPU gebaseerd op de Raptor Lake architectuur voor grote en zware notebooks. De CPU werd begin 2024 geïntroduceerd en is een iets hoger geklokte variant van de oudere Core i9-13980HX.
De in totaal 32 threads zijn verdeeld in P-cores en E-cores, die we al kennen van Alder-Lake. Hier worden 8 performance cores (P-cores) met hyperthreading gebruikt en 16 efficiency cores, zodat er in totaal 32 threads tegelijkertijd verwerkt kunnen worden. De P-cores klokken van 2,2 GHz (basisklok) tot 5,8 GHz (single-core turbo) en de E-cores van 1,6 GHz tot 4,1 GHz.
Prestaties
Door de iets hogere maximale kloksnelheden nemen met name de single-core prestaties van de 14900HX iets toe ten opzichte van de 13980HX. Vergeleken met AMD's topmodel, de Ryzen 9 7945HX en 7945HX3D blijft de 14900HX net achter (gemiddeld in onze benchmarks). De prestaties zijn echter afhankelijk van de benchmark en de koeling en zijn meestal goed vergelijkbaar.
Grafische eenheid
Net als de Intel Core i9-12900HX, biedt de Intel Core i9-14900HX een geïntegreerde grafische eenheid. De Intel Iris XE architectuur blijft als basis dienen. Qua prestaties is er echter niet veel veranderd met de nieuwe Intel UHD Graphics 770.
De 14900HX is vervaardigd met behulp van Intels verder verbeterde 10nm FinFET proces (Intel 7 proces) en wordt gespecificeerd met 55 watt basisvermogen en 157 watt turbovermogen.
