Intel Core i3-330UM

De Intel Core i3-330UM is een Ultra Low Voltage dual-core processor voor kleine en lichte laptops. Hij is geklokt op 1,2 GHz en heeft geen ondersteuning voor Turbo Boost om de CPU cores te overklokken. Een andere functie die ontbreekt in vergelijking met de i5 en i7 lineup is de AES functie. Elke core is gebaseerd op de Nehalem (Westemere) micro-architectuur. Hyperthreading zorgt ervoor dat de Dual Core CPU 4 threads gelijktijdig kan verwerken (voor een beter gebruik van de pipeline).

Een functie van de nieuwe Core i3-330UM is de geïntegreerde videokaart (genaamd Intel HD Graphics) en de geheugen controller. Beide zitten op een afzonderlijke chip die geproduceerd wordt op 45nm, terwijl de CPU chip al op het nieuwe 32nm procedé geproduceerd wordt. De ook wel genoemde GMA HD kaart kan Turbo Boost gebruiken om van 133 tot 500 MHz te overklokken.

Door de geïntegreerde geheugencontroller en HyperThreading, de Core i3-330UM is sneller dan een vergelijkbaar geklokte Core 2 Duo (1,2 GHz) in alle (door ons gekende) applicaties en benchmarks. Hij is in staat de 1,3 GHz Pentium SU 7300 in te halen. De gaming prestaties zullen echter wel lijden onder de lage kloksnelheid.

Het stroomverbruik van 18 Watt TDP (maximum) telt voor het hele pakket en is daarmee beter dan de 17 Watt TDP van de Core 2 Duo SL-reeks (enkel de CPU).
