Intel 2357M

De Intel Core i3-2357M is een energie-efficiënte ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) processor voor dunne en lichte laptops. De standaard kloksnelheid van 1.3 GHz is relatief laag en de CPU heeft geen ondersteuning voor Turbo Boost voor automatisch overklokken. Met Hyper-Threading kan de i3-2357M maximaal 4 threads tegelijkertijd verwerken. Vergeleken met vergelijkbaar geklokte Celeron en Pentium modellen biedt de i3-2357M een snellere HD 3000 grafische kaart en biedt meer eigenschappen (zoals QuickSync).

Sandy Bridge is de evolutionaire opvolger van de Arrandale architectuur. De meest zichtbare verbeteringen zijn de verbeterde Turbo Boost 2.0 (niet beschikbaar voor de cores van de i3-2357M) en de op de 32nm core geïntegreerde grafische kaart.

De geïntegreerde Intel HD Graphics 3000 is geklokt op 350 MHz of 950 MHz (Turbo Boost). Door de lagere kloksnelheid zonder Turbo, vergeleken met de HD Graphics 3000 in non-LV processoren (meestal 650-1100/1300 MHz), zullen de prestaties merkbaar lager zijn.

De prestaties van de CPU zullen wat hoger moeten zijn dan een vergelijkbaar geklokte Arrandale Core i3 ULV zoals de Core i3-380UM.

Het TDP van 17 watt (inclusief geïntegreerde GPU en geheugencontroller) maakt het gebruik van de i3-2357M CPU in kleine subnotebooks mogelijk.
