Intel i7-12700F

De Intel Core i7-12700F is een high-end desktop processor gebaseerd op de Alder Lake architectuur. Hij werd voor het eerst aangekondigd in november 2021 en biedt 8 prestatiekernen en 4 efficiencykernen. De prestatiekernen (P-cores) ondersteunen HyperThreading, wat leidt tot 20 threads die tegelijkertijd verwerkt kunnen worden. De prestatiekernen kunnen een frequentie bereiken van 4,9 GHz (Turbo Boost Max 3.0, basis 2.1), de efficiencykernen kunnen een frequentie bereiken van 3,6 GHz (basis 1,6 GHz). Alle kernen kunnen 25 MB Smart Cache gebruiken. De geïntegreerde geheugencontroller ondersteunt tot 128 GB DDR5-geheugen op 4800 MT/s (dubbelkanaals).

De Thread Director (in hardware) kan het besturingssysteem helpen beslissen welke thread moet worden gebruikt op de performance of efficiency cores voor de beste prestaties.

Voor AI-taken beschikt de processor ook over GNA 3.0 en DL Boost. Quick Sync versie 8 is identiek aan de Rocket Lake processoren en ondersteunt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1, JPEG, VP8, VP9, HEVC en AV1 decodering in hardware.

De desktopmodellen uit de F-serie bieden geen geïntegreerde grafische kaart.

De processor heeft een basisvermogen van 65 watt en een maximaal turbovermogen van 180 watt. Hij is vervaardigd met behulp van Intels 10nm-proces, bekend als Intel 7.
