Intel N97

De Intel Processor N97 is een instapmodel mobiele CPU voor dunne en lichte laptops uit de Alder Lake-N serie. Hij werd begin 2023 aangekondigd en biedt geen prestatie-kernen en 4 van de 8 efficiënte kernen (E-cores, Gracemont-architectuur). De chip ondersteunt geen HyperThreading en klokt tot 3,7 GHz. De prestaties van de E-cores zouden vergelijkbaar moeten zijn met oude Skylake cores (vergelijk met de Core i7-6700HQ). Alle cores kunnen tot 6 MB L3-cache gebruiken.

Prestaties

De prestaties zouden tussen die van de Intel Processor N100 enIntel Processor N200en duidelijk onder de Core i3-N300 en N305 door het lagere aantal kernen.

Kenmerken

De Alder Lake-N chips ondersteunen alleen enkelkanaals geheugen met maximaal DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200 of LPDDR5-4800. De chip ondersteunt ook Quick Sync en AV1-decodering (waarschijnlijk dezelfde engine als in Alder Lake). Verder zijn Wi-Fi 6E en Bluetooth 5.2 gedeeltelijk geïntegreerd (maar geen Thunderbolt). Externe chips kunnen worden aangesloten via PCIe Gen3 x9 (via de PCH).

De geïntegreerde grafische adapter is gebaseerd op de Xe-architectuur en biedt slechts 24 van de 32 EU's (Execution Units) die op 1200 MHz werken. Door het eenkanaals geheugen, de lage kloksnelheden en het lage aantal shaders zijn de gamingprestaties van de iGPU zeer beperkt.

Stroomverbruik

De N97 heeft een basis stroomverbruik van 12 W en verdubbelt daarmee de hoeveelheid van de N100. De CPU is gebouwd met een verder verbeterd 10nm SuperFin proces bij Intel (Intel 7 genoemd).
