EN→NLThe Honor Book 14 (2021) is a well-balanced laptop for those who want a device to get work done, surf the web and play the occasional game. It would have been nice is Honor has updated the design a bit to make it distinguishable from its predecessor (or even Apple’s products), but there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with how the laptop is built. For its 1,000€ price tag, the specs you get are very compelling. You’ll just have a hard time getting your hands on one as the laptop isn’t available in the US and Honor seems to have limited distribution across Europe as well.

EN→NLAs you'd expect, performance on Honor's MagicBooks has gotten better with every generation, and with this particular update, it got the biggest boost yet thanks to the switch from mid-range processors to a high-end one. Because of that and everything else being almost exactly the same, this is naturally my favorite MagicBook yet.

EN→NLWhile the upgrades are welcome, it might not have been the best decision for Honor to move into the premium end of the laptop market. The MagicBook 14 was one of the best – if not the best - value-for-money laptops you could buy, but now it competes with flagship models from the top names. Don’t get me wrong, performance of the top-of-the-range model I tested is excellent and the display is a big improvement on the previous generation. And it still comes in a stylish and well-made chassis. But you'd expect these things given the corresponding increase in price.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoC's op basis van de nieuwe Gen. 12-architectuur met 96 EU's (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). De kloksnelheid is afhankelijk van het processormodel. De Tiger Lake chips worden geproduceerd in het moderne 10nm+ proces bij Intel.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

i7-1165G7:
Tiger Lake gebaseerde low power quad-core processor voor dunne en lichte laptops. De vier kernen klok rond 2.8 - 4.7 GHz. Geproduceerd in 10nm+ bij Intel.

14.00": Dit schermformaat wordt vooral gebruikt voor subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles. Voor alle drie types is dit formaat redelijk groot. De grootste verscheidenheid aan subnotebooks wordt vertegenwoordigd in deze klasse.
Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.

1.376 kg: Dit gewicht is typisch voor erg grote tablets, subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles met een 11-13 inch schermdiagonaal.
77.43%: Dit cijfer is niet echt overtuigend. Het moet in acht worden genomen dat er bijna geen laptops zijn die een score onder de 60% hebben. Dit notebook is beneden gemiddeld beoordeeld, en is niet aanbevolen te kopen.
