Garmin Forerunner 945 LTE receives Beta v16.18 with new muscle maps and glances
Garmin has released Public Beta Version 16.18 for the Forerunner 945 LTE. The latest software brings many features to the wearable, including muscle maps for HIIT, Cardio and Pilates activities. New glances are available for Endurance Score, Hill Score and Weather. Plus, there are map types and data field options alongside a Workout app in the Activities and Apps list.
Beta Version 16.18 adds new activities for various team sports and racket sports and a data field for the notification watch face showing a contact name or number. Plus, the update makes the Forerunner 945 LTE compatible with the Shimano Di2 cassettes, connecting to your bike via ANT+ and BLE. The latest software fixes several bugs, such as Pace Pro screen freeze and the flashlight not retaining your previous brightness level setting. Other problems linked to Spotify, the popularity map theme and glance folders have also been resolved. Version 16.18 includes a Sensor Hub Update, updated text files and updated mobile translations.
Garmin notes that Beta version 16.18 is a Release Candidate, meaning an identical live version of the software will shortly be rolled out to all smartwatches, assuming no significant bugs are found in this testing phase.
