This makes it a smart fit for those seeking a simple laptop for basic travel needs like answering emails and watching videos or mobile professionals doing lighter work in Microsoft Office or Google’s ecosystem from the road. It’s an impressive value, but it's beaten by Asus’ own Zenbook 14 OLED model UM3406, which delivers superior performance with only a couple of concessions for less money through Walmart. The design of this system won’t wow you, and a higher resolution display requires spending more cash, but you won't miss any essentials. The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED Touch (UM3406) retains its Editors’ Choice award in this category, but the Q425 is a worthwhile consideration if it suits your needs better.

In some instances, you can find a higher-resolution IPS panel like we saw recently with the 2.2K IPS display on the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus or an OLED panel as supplied by the Lenovo Slim 7i. The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED Q425 follows a recipe similar to that of the Slim 7i with its 14-inch OLED touch display powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. Just by virtue of the superior fidelity of its OLED display, the Zenbook 14 OLED Q425 stands out from the midrange laptop crowd but also feels like a lesser version of the Slim 7i. The Zenbook 14 OLED Q425 is lighter and longer running than the Slim 7i, but this increased portability comes at the expense of build quality.

But it shares the typical Asus build quality, has a very good keyboard and touchpad, and its battery life matches its excellent performance. If you’re looking for a 14-inch laptop that won’t break the bank, the Zenbook 14 Q425 comes recommended.

That’s the best selling point for this laptop, even if it has plenty of other high quality features and impressive performance versatility. If you want to be untethered from outlets for a full work day, and still have battery life for some work (or play) on your commute home, the Zenbook 14 OLED is the best ultraportable Windows laptop we can recommend. The bonus to all of that battery is the laptop’s snappy performance, quality audio, comfortable keyboard, and stunning OLED display panel. In fact, if the display was just a little bit brighter to deal with glare, it would be a perfect laptop.

Intel Arc 8-Core: Geïntegreerde grafische kaart gebaseerd op de Xe LPG-architectuur (vergelijkbaar met de speciale Arc GPU's, maar met de nadruk op efficiëntie). Biedt alle 8 Xe cores (128 Xe vector engines) en 8 ray tracing units.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Ultra 7 155H: Een high-end Meteor Lake-chip die in december 2023 zijn debuut maakte. Deze Core Ultra-processor van de 1e generatie vervangt de Core-chips van de 13e generatie; hij beschikt over 16 kernen (6 + 8 + 2) en 22 threads. De Performance-kernen, waarvan er 6 zijn, draaien op maximaal 4,8 GHz, terwijl de Efficient-kernen, waarvan er 10 zijn (8 hoofdkernen plus 2 extra in het Low Power Island) op maximaal 3,8 GHz draaien. De geïntegreerde AI Boost NPU biedt twee Gen 3 engines voor hardware AI werklastversnelling. Het "minimaal verzekerde" stroomverbruik van deze laptopprocessor is 28 W, terwijl het Turbo-verbruik binnen de 115 W zou moeten blijven.
