For instance, RedMagic phones lack an IP rating, they don’t support wireless charging and the cameras are pretty naff. The ROG Phone 9 Pro is IP68-rated, supports Qi charging and has a decent set of snappers; it just feels like a more complete package. That said, the value proposition muddies things a bit. The ROG Phone 9 Pro starts at £1099.99 / $1199.99 and if you want the Pro Edition with the included cooler, that’ll cost you a cool £1299.99 / $1499.99.

The main camera has improved for both stills and video; the bigger battery bring epic endurance when you’re not gaming; and the two-colour Anime Vision LEDs are especially easy on the eye, without going OTT on the rest of the styling front. But if you can afford it and want the absolute best gaming performance out there, this is the phone to get, especially the Pro Edition model. If raw performance is what you’re after, it’s the go-to, with enough extra features to set it apart from others running the same chip. Will you get similar performance in a cheaper gaming handset like a successor to the Nubia Z60S Ultra, Redmagic 9 Pro, or Poco X6 Pro in 2025? It’s likely. But with a side port for easy charging and those fan-favourite AirTriggers, it’s a hard phone to pass up. Best of all, it’s still a great general-use phone.

Things have changed dramatically for 2024, even though the ROG Phone 9 Pro brings a few upgrades that’ll keep up its wider audience appeal. The main camera has improved for both stills and video; the bigger battery bring epic endurance when you’re not gaming; and the two-colour Anime Vision LEDs are especially easy on the eye, without going OTT on the rest of the styling front. There’s also no denying this is a rapid phone, and even if you’re not bolting on the external cooler it’ll demolish any game you’d care to throw at it.

The ROG Phone 9 has been incredibly fun to use and play games with. It’s been fun bumping all the specs to their max and playing Wild Rift without the device getting warm. There were a lot of AI features, but most were game-related, and I didn’t use them for the game I was playing. The handset doesn’t take the best pictures, but if you’re not someone who takes a lot of shots, you probably won’t mind, especially if you’re a geek who just wants to play. The ROG Phone 9 is a solid phone, and I’m happy I got the chance to play around with the handset.

It's undeniable that Asus packed in impressive hardware to help refine the ROG Phone 9. The smartphone features ample processing power and a stellar battery to service on-the-go gaming. Unfortunately, I think in doing so, the ROG Phone 9 doesn't do much to stand out as a smartphone. Across all of its phone properties, Asus plays it pretty safe. As a mobile gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 9 will serve you well. If you're grinding through Genshin Impact or want to play some games via the cloud, you'll likely enjoy the user experience. My only wish is that the quality of its gaming performance was maintained across the board. If you're interested in the ROG Phone 9 for its gaming capabilities exclusively, I'd almost be more compelled to suggest an ROG Ally or a Steam Deck instead.

If you want nothing short of the best mobile gaming experience, we believe that the ROG Phone line is still the way to go. The ROG Phone 9 family has the most in-depth and comprehensive set of gaming features on top of excellent and, in many ways, specifically crafted hardware. The ROG Phone 9 generation is all about refinement. Last year, the family saw a major redesign, and now Asus is ironing out any issues and grievances users might have had. The latest and greatest Snapdragon chipset is sort of a given, but we still have to admire how well the ROG Phone 9 handles cooling on the beastly chipset and how efficient it is. The boost in the display refresh rate is also appreciated.

Gamers will also dig the dual USB-C ports, 3.5mm headphone jack, and dot-matrix LED on the back that can display information like the time and battery life. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.

Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.

Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.

De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
