If you don't want to spend the money on an iPhone or a foldable smartphone, the ROG Phone 5s Pro is the one to get. Overall, despite its high price, I can recommend the Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro, especially if you're a serious mobile gamer. Furthermore, all of the primary elements like design and performance are just so smooth, making it a perfect choice for anyone whos looking for a new phone.

Well if you’re looking for the most overpowered phone that you can buy for gaming or are upgrading from a 2-year old flagship, then this phone is for you. Still, you’ll have to have deep pockets to enjoy this overpowered monster, though if you do pull the trigger on the ROG Phone 5s Pro, you can expect it’ll be future-proofed enough to last you three years, maybe more.

Little details like a bundled cooling fan with extra hardware buttons help set it apart from its rivals, while an absolutely gigantic battery provides impressive stamina. However, the price feels a little excessive when the Nubia Redmagic 6S Pro provides a very similar package for not much more than half the money.

EN→NLIt’s weird that ASUS released the ROG Phone 5s Pro just 8 months after it released the ROG Phone 5 Pro. And the difference is not that significant. Just a higher-clocked chipset and bigger RAM. If you own the ROG Phone 5 Pro, I don’t think you’ll notice the difference in performance. If they offer the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate at a lower price, I think I might get that one instead. Those coming from the ROG Phone 3 or buying a gaming smartphone for the first time will probably benefit from this option. All in all, the ROG Phone 5s Pro is a great gaming phone for 2021. It’s a weird release, but great nonetheless.

Because of how few changes (only one, let’s be honest) there are between the ROG Phone 5 and the ROG Phone 5s series of smartphones – to the point that even the prices are the same – I’ll give the ROG Phone 5s Pro the same award.

EN→NLSince we've already reviewed the ROG Phone 5 and its Ultimate Edition and there aren't many changes here, we have a good idea what this new phone is about. It's most definitely worthy of our recommendation. The 5s Pro, even with its hefty price, succeeds its predecessors at the top spot among gaming phones. It's a premium offering, sure, but it's compatible with the best ecosystem of gaming accessories, and the software is probably the most polished one in town, too. That's as much as we can say before our full review is ready.

Qualcomm Adreno 660:
Grafische chip voor smartphones en tablets die is geïntegreerd in de Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Qualcomm beweert dat het 35% sneller is dan de Adreno 650 in de Snapdragon 865 SoC en biedt een 20% betere energie-efficiëntie. Voor Android zou het een van de snelste grafische kaarten in 2021 moeten zijn.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

SD 888+ 5G:
High-end SoC voor smartphones die medio 2021 werd geïntroduceerd en bij Samsung in 5 nm werd geproduceerd. Integreert één "Prime Core" op basis van een ARM Cortex-X1-architectuur geklokt op maximaal 3 GHz. Drie andere prestatiekernen zijn gebaseerd op de A78 maar klokken tot 2,42 GHz. Verder zijn er vier energiebesparende kernen geïntegreerd die zijn gebaseerd op de ARM Cortex-A55 architectuur en klokken tot 1,8 GHz. Naast de processorkernen integreert de SoC een WiFi 6e modem, een Hexagon 780 DSP (tot 26 TOPS aan AI-prestaties) en een Spectra 580 ISP. De geïntegreerde geheugencontroller ondersteunt nu sneller LPDDR5-geheugen met maximaal 3.200 MHz. 5G is nu opgenomen in de chip met de Snapdragon X60-modem.
