Zoek je een 10- of 11-inch iPad? Dan heb je nu keuze uit 3 nieuwe (en nog meer oudere) iPads in verschillende prijsklassen. Ondanks enkele gebreken doet de iPad Air precies wat hij moet doen: het gat vullen tussen de goedkopere reguliere iPad en de luxe iPad Pro, beide uit 2018. Het is de ideale iPad voor wie hem kan betalen. Het gelamineerde scherm van de iPad Air is het grote pluspunt ten opzichte van de betaalbare iPad. Ook de verbeterde webcam en de krachtige processor zijn waardevolle verbeteringen. Tegenover de iPad Pro zijn de beperkte 2-speaker-indeling en de ondersteuning van alleen de eerste generatie Apple Pencil de voornaamste minpunten, maar dat is voor de meeste gebruikers waarschijnlijk niet genoeg reden om €300 extra uit te geven aan de Pro.

Yes. But I will attach a few caveats. Get it only if you want the iPad Air as a premium tablet on which you can occasionally do basic work. As long as you know the iPad Air’s shortcomings, you will feel your half-a-lakh is well spent. The display is amazing and the slick performance boggles my mind -- a Windows laptop at this price may not deliver such smooth and dependable performance. Plus, you don’t need to always carry a charger.

Given the feature set of the Air, that price makes it the most attractive iPad for most people. The Pro is significantly more expensive and the extra features are only really relevant for a small number of people. But the £160 extra over the standard iPad gets you a better and larger screen, a significant boost in power and therefore longevity, smart keyboard compatibility, and an extra 32GB of storage. If you can afford it, it's a total no-brainer.

Apple A12 Bionic GPU:

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

10.50": Dit is een typisch schermformaat voor tablets en kleine convertibles.

Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.
