Na 3 á 4 maanden stelde ik mijzelf de vraag, heb ik echt een 1650 euro kostende laptop gekocht om de turbo boost op de processor uit te schakelen? NEE! Heb ik echt zo'n duur apparaat gekocht om de ventilator (overdreven) constant in m'n oor te hebben blazen tijdens het kijken van een filmpje? NEE! Dus uiteindelijk toch de conclusie genomen (mede door aankondiging van apple silicon) om de macbook te verkopen.

De 2020-update van de Apple MacBook Pro 13″ is in principe een kleine. Erg veel is er niet veranderd tegenover het vorige model, en als je niet de hoofdprijs wilt betalen zit er zelfs nog een oude 8e generatie processor in. En hoewel Apple de laptop zeker nog jaren zal ondersteunen, zou het kunnen dat die ondersteuning wat korter is dan we van Apple gewend zijn vanwege de aankomende overstap naar ARM-processoren.

Hiervoor had ik het 2018 model en daarvoor de 2015 versie. De fysieke ESC toets heb ik echt gemist, dus ben blij dat die weer terug is. In veel applicaties gebruik je deze knop om iets te annuleren en dat bracht aardig wat irritatie met zich mee als de Touch Bar weer even uit stond. Ook het toetsenbord komt weer in de buurt van de 2015 versie en dat is zeker een compliment.

This one’s tough. As a standalone piece of hardware, I think most people should pass on this one and stay in their Windows/Chrome OS lanes. You’re getting an expensive laptop where you can’t use all of the cool features because your phone doesn’t talk to this at all. You can complement Apple’s services with Google and Microsoft’s, but at the end of the day, you need a foot in the door with an iPhone to really enjoy what’s here. If you just love the design, smooth performance, guaranteed updates, and overall cohesion that Apple offers, I totally get it, and it’s still a great laptop. It’s a very slick machine, but it’s arguably not worth the asking price.

The new 10th-Gen chips are actually Apple-exclusive, so they perform incredibly well, especially compared to some other i7 Windows laptops. Apple's 10th-Gen chips all come with G7 graphics, so you get great performance, but there's still a major issue with them that I discuss in this review. There's also one more massive complaint about this MacBook Pro that we shouldn't be dealing with in 2020... But as you'll see in this video, there are a few reasons why this $1799 MacBook Pro is so good that it won't even matter for some.

Here it is, and it's about what we expected. This is still a fantastic small laptop, and the top line model now comes with a new 10th gen quad-core Intel processor and options for more RAM. Pair that with a keyboard that won't drive you nuts, and you have a very compelling machine. Unfortunately, the cheaper models didn't get quite the full set of upgrades, and this new MacBook Pro is launching into a world where it has to compete against some excellent PC laptops (such as the XPS13, Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop 3 and new Galaxy Book Flex).

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
